All new Silks are invited to take their bows before the High Court at 3.30pm on Monday, 5 January 2018 in Courtroom 1. The Chief Justice and Justices of the High Court are pleased to invite all new Silks and their families to attend an afternoon tea reception immediately after the ceremony.

Australian Bar Association Silks Dinner

It has become the practice to hold a dinner in the High Court of Australia on the night of the new Silks taking their bows in Canberra.

The dinner to mark the occasion will be held in the Great Hall of the High Court on Monday, 5 February 2018 at 7.00pm for 7.30pm. All barristers, not just the new Silks, and their partners are invited to attend. Dress for the evening is formal.
