A Conference designed for the whole of profession, hosting a range of local, interstate and international speakers, the 2020 Bar Association of Queensland and Australian Bar Association Conference promises to be an event not to be missed.

The Conference will be held at the W Hotel Brisbane, a centrally located, vibrant riverside venue.
 
Commencing with Welcome Drinks at 5.30pm on Thursday 5 March and running across two days, Friday 6 March and Saturday 7 March, the Conference offers an optional gala dinner on the Friday evening at Blackbird Restaurant.

At the Welcome on Thursday evening hear special guest renowned Australian artist and human rights campaigner, Ben Quilty, as he discusses his experiences as a war artist in Afghanistan and his reflections on society and the law. At the optional gala dinner on Friday listen to guest speaker Dr Munjed Al Muderis, Associate Professor and Orthopaedic Surgeon.

The Conference includes a keynote address by the Honourable Malcolm Wallis of the Supreme Court of Appeal South Africa.  The Honourable Malcolm Wallis was appointed a judge of the High Court of South African (January 2009); the Labour and Competition Appeal Courts (2010) and the Supreme Court of Appeal in 2011, his was one of the most rapid elevations to the Appeal Court in South African legal history.
